    Dahod district is part of Gujarat state, the western most state in the Republic of India. Dahod district used to be part of Panchmahal District. On October 2, 1997, six talukas (subdivisions of a district), including Dahod, of Panchmahal district were partitioned to form a new district named Dahod. Dahod city serve as the administrative headquarter for the district. Dahod district is surrounded by Panchmahal district (west), Vadodara District (south), Jhabua District of Madhya Pradesh state (east), and Banswara district of Rajasthan state (north). Population of the district is mostly rural, and majority of them are tribal people (Adivasis and Bhils). Dahod district also has the second largest population of Dawoodi Vohra Samaj in India.Shri R.M.Parmar was appointed as the first Principal District Judge of Dahod District on 13-08-2004 and at present Hon’ble Mr.N.D.Joshi is appointed as Principal District Judge, Dahod from 01-05-2024.
